NUMS SCHOOLS MODEL STUDENTS

By Amadu bah President NUMS 10,October 2012.

In order for the National Union of Muslim Students in Sierra Leone (NUMS) to maintain its aim of intensifying its message to the secondary school students for them to be steadfast in their academic pursuit and religious practices; the Union on Thursday addressed students of the Government Model Secondary School.

In his address Mr. Aruna Jalloh Chief Adviser of NUMS encouraged students to respect their authorities as this will help them in their pursuit to achieve the best in life, he allured them whilst seeking admission to any universities or colleges of their choice to join the various Muslim Jama'at in these institutions or the Christian groups as that would help them most in the pursuit for excellence. He admonished them to stay away from drugs, clubs and cult groups as these groups are involved in promoting violence.

Mr. Aruna Jalloh who was the former President of FBC Muslim Jama'at and a Final year law student emphasized that religious groups in these campuses have produced excellent students that are now holding prestigious and enviable positions in all works of life, he told them that members of these cults and clubs always portray their groups as having all the goodies you will need whilst in college and that if you join them you will have good results and work won’t be a problem, all these are just lies and fake.

In his address the President of NUMS and Final year student of the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences Mr. Amadu Bah gave a brief background of the organization, stating that the organization facilitates and participates in the propagation of Islamic doctrines (Da’wah) within and outside Sierra Leone. He called on the students to stay away from all forms of violence especially during and after the November 17th elections.

Earlier the Vice President NUMS Senesie Mansaray introduced members of the organization to students and authorities of the school which includes the President Mr. Amadu Bah, Secretary General Va-aly of IBATECH, Alhaji Wusha-Conteh former President of IPAM Muslim Jama’at and Chairman University of Sierra Leone Muslim Jama’at, Brother Musa Osman Gbassay of College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences, Brother Abdulai Jalloh President College of Medicine Muslim Jama'at, Brother Ibrahim Bangura former Secretary General of IPAM & University Muslim Jama’at, Mr. Aruna Jalloh Chief Adviser of NUMS and former President of Fourah Bay College Muslim Jama’at.
